Man Utd news: Paul Pogba could miss crucial Liverpool game next month

Pogba limped off after just 18 minutes of United’s Champions League opener against Basel on Tuesday night.

His absence didn’t affect his team’s performance however as goals from Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford gave them a 3-0 win.

But the France international left Old Trafford on crutches, adding to fears about how long he could be out of action.

Jose Mourinho confirmed after the game that the injury will certainly keep Pogba out of United’s match against Everton this Sunday (4pm).

However, ESPN now report the 24-year-old faces battle to recover in time for United’s game against Liverpool on October 14.

Pogba is likely to be unavailable for United’s league matches against Everton, Southampton, Crystal Palace as well as their league cup tie against Burton and the trip to CSKA Moscow in the next round of Champions League fixtures.

After that there is another international break where France will play Bulgaria and Belarus as they look to secure their place in next year’s World Cup.
