Fire brigades rushed to the scene of the blaze at the religious school in the Jalan Datuk Keramat area early on Thursday morning.
The school is believed to be for Islamic students in the region, with the blaze breaking out at approximately 5.15am.
Nine fire engines from four stations rushed to the scene, with the wounded being taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
A fire and rescue spokesman said: “Based on our information at the moment, 25 students and teachers have died in the fire.
“Our personnel are still at the scene.”
