The actress, 27, is picking up incredible early buzz for the unsettling Darren Aronofsky film, but it’s so boundary-pushing that she had her doubts when watching it with an audience for the first time.
Speaking with Jimmy Fallon on US TV last night, she said: “When I saw it with an audience, I felt really shook afterwards.
“I pulled Darren aside, I was like ‘this was a mistake, we took it to far’. And he was like, ‘what?’
“And then thirty minutes later, I was like, ‘ah [relief]’.”
The Oscar winner also revealed that when she felt particularly dark during filming, she would listen to a Christmas song.
