‘Meghan Markle is incredible’: Holly Willoughby hopes Prince Harry will wed soon

Speaking to Express.co.uk about the royal romance between Prince Harry, 32, and Meghan Markle, 36, Holly Willoughby, 36, said: “Everybody loves a royal wedding, of course they do, and Meghan Markle is just incredible.

“I mean you couldn’t have wished for Prince Harry to end up with someone better.

Holly, an ambassador for Diet Coke, is settled herself, having been wed to husband Dan since 2011.

She is also happy with her TV ‘husband’ Phillip Schofield and the pair are watched by millions every week.

Being in the public eye does come with pressures, but Holly lets this wash over her, particularly as she has gotten older.

She said: “I think because I do it day in day out now, and because you’re live it’s not like photography, you’re moving around, you’re eating stuff, you’re doing stuff so it becomes such a natural thing that you can’t really hide who you are.

“There’s no amount of hair or makeup – you just are who you are. At the ripe old age of 36 I’m very comfortable and confident in who I am and I think that sort of helps with that situation.

“I like to look nice, because everybody likes to look nice, but that is for me rather than for anybody else.”

Holly’s increased confidence has also come from being more aware of what suits her, part of which is thanks to working with a great behind-the-scenes team.

Her stylist, Angie Smith, has taught the presenter a host of tricks for dressing well, some of which Holly revealed.

Holly said: “Angie does all my styling and my outfits are her hard work, more than mine.

“Working with my team, and Angie, has taught me so much. I never thought I could wear trousers, I always thought of myself as a fat-bottomed girl, but then she introduced me to high waisted trousers! They are a revelation, and I can wear them with shirts tucked in too.”

Holly tries not to look to other celebrities to inspire her wardrobe, preferring to be led by what suits her.

She revealed: “It’s hard, because you can look at someone and say ‘I want to look like them with that hair’ when actually your hair is a different texture, different colour, different length and I know you can change those things but your face isn’t the same shape.

“And I think the best thing to do is to go and get advice from somebody who is doing it for you and find the best thing for you – be inspired a little bit but realistic for what works for your body and shape.

“So I think that’s another thing that I’ve learnt with time is that you’ve got to wear what’s right for you, be led by your body as opposed to what some other body is wearing.”

Away from work, Holly winds down by not wearing makeup – “literally the last thing I want to do” – and enjoying a Diet Coke.

The mum-of-three reaches for the drink to perk her up during the afternoon slump, and also on holiday, describing it as “the dream” to drink while she is away.
