Police have been called to Freeman High School, in Spokane County, Washington, after shots were fired.
Local media is reporting at least six people have been injured, according to paramedics.
All other schools in the surrounding area are in lockdown.
Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed there has been a shooting at the school, based in the town of Rockford.
The Spokesman Review has reported taht one suspect is in custody.

Pictures from the scene show a huge number of police cars surrounding the school building, and worried parents have begun gathering at a nearby petrol station waiting for news on their children.
Andrea Olson, a reporter for regional news channel KHQ, tweeted that there had been injurues and children were currently being evacuated.
One student at the school took a picture of her classmates apparently taking cover on the floor of their classroom and posted on Twitter.
The girl, named Christina, said: “At Freeman elementary currently. I am a junior, evacuated from the high school. At least 4 shots.”
