Messi scored twice as Barcelona beat Juventus 3-0 in the Nou Camp to kick off their Champions League group stage with a bang.
The Argentina striker outplayed Juve’s iconic central defence and finally got a goal against veteran keeper Gianluigi Buffon.
The win puts Barca in firm control of Group D, with Sporting beating Olympiakos 3-2 in the other group match.
And Messi sent a message to the fans on Facebook after the game stating his intentions to take Barca all the way this season.
“Great night and a good result to begin our European journey,” he wrote.

As for Messi, Barca maintain he has signed his new contract at the club even though no official announcement has been made.
President Josep Maria Bartomeu said after the result: “Messi? He has a four-year contract. He’s the best ever and played for us since he was small and we enjoy watching him play because he’s unique.”
