Nintendo Direct September 2017: Nintendo Switch games take centre stage for Mario showcase

It hasn’t been long since the last, but a new Nintendo Direct has been announced for later this week.

The new video games showcase has already got a few confirmed subjects it will be covering, including Super Mario Odyssey.

The Nintendo Switch games live stream is set to last little under an hour but isn’t expected to cover any new big reveals.

Instead, Nintendo look set to focus on what is coming to their range of devices in the near future, so expect an update on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

“Tune in at 11pm (UK time) on Wednesday 13th September for nearly 45 minutes of information mainly focused on what’s heading to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS family systems over the next few months, including new details about Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch,” a message from Nintendo teases.

As mentioned above, there probably won’t be any fresh reveals for the Nintendo Switch, although new stuff could be announced for the 3DS.

When it comes to what we know is being launched this year, the likes of Super Mario Odyssey, Pokken Tournament DX, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Fire Emblem Warriors are some of the biggest names.

LA Noire could also make an appearance, having been confirmed recently as launching later this year.

The Nintendo Switch port will contain the original game and DLC, plus new control schemes when it releases on November 14.

“L.A. Noire for the Nintendo Switch features the complete original game and all additional downloadable content,” Rockstar explains.

“With specific enhancements including a Joy-Con mode with gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, HD rumble and new wide and over-the-shoulder camera angles, plus contextual touch screen controls for portable detective work.”

There’s other games for the Nintendo 3DS, with Metroid: Samus Returns and Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon likely to be the stars of the show.

It was recently revealed that Nintendo Switch is back in stock in the UK, but there could be problems at Christmas.

GAME tweeted that it had Nintendo Switch bundles available in store.

“Back in stock! Get the Nintendo Switch from only £279.99!”

Likewise, Amazon still has the Nintendo Switch in stock, and is offering next day delivery – although not through Prime.

Argos also has the Nintendo Switch in stock, and customers are able to order now and pick up on the same day, depending on the store.

But while this sudden burst of availability is good news for fans, Nintendo has hinted that there could be problems at Christmas.

Nintendo believes it will sell 10 million by the end of the financial year, and that the “supply chain is there”.
