Reflecting on the huge success of Chapter One, which took over $180 million worldwide in its opening weekend, director Andy Muschietti briefly discussed who could play one particular member of the Losers’ Club as an adult.
On the suggestion that Jessica Chastain looks like Beverly star Sophia Lillis, he told Variety: “I don’t know, does she?
“Jessi is an amazing actress and very good friend and I would love her to play Beverly.”
He added: “She loves the movie and it feels like the planets are aligned in that sense, but we still have to make that happen.

“With the character, it’s like, ‘What defines evil? Real, real evil, and monstrosity?’
“And having a crying child and then mocking that crying child is, to me, one of the most horrific things you can do.”
