There is a way for Switch gamers to try out NBA 2K18 before the official release date though.
Those who pre-order get the game four days early, meaning they can start their career on September 15.
NBA 2K18 on Switch has been confirmed to include nearly everything that will be coming to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
It was even rumoured that Amiibo support was being worked on, however, a 2K Sports representative has now ruled this out.
While the digital version of NBA 2K18 will be available to buy on Nintendo Switch on the same date as PS4 and Xbox One, a physical release is happening later.
According to the latest reports, the hit Basketball franchise won’t be available to buy off the shelf until October 17.
It’s also been revealed that some Nintendo Switch games being released will require a MicroSD card.
NBA 2K18 has been confirmed as one such upcoming title, meaning for those buying it, there could be an extra cost involved.
“A microSD card will be needed for certain Nintendo Switch games that contain an especially large amount of content and require additional storage for players to enjoy the full experience,” a statement from Nintendo explains.
It appears that Nintendo are making sure fans know before they buy a game, with new updated box art confirming whether an SD card is required.
For those who buy these new Switch games but don’t fancy splashing out further, Nintendo have revealed that portions of these titles will be accessible.
By purchasing a physical version of a game that requires an additional microSD memory card, gamers will be able to play a portion of the game right out of the box.
However, to enjoy the full game, downloading additional data will be required and it may be necessary to purchase a microSD card to expand storage space.
