It movie: The actor behind Pennywise has a VERY famous dad… AND brother

The film – adapted from Stephen King’s novel – is arriving on the big screen on a wave of acclaim.

Bill Skarsgard, the actor playing the horror icon, is from a family who should be quite familiar with acting glory.

He’s the son of Stellan Skarsgard, famous for roles in Breaking The Waves, Good Will Hunting, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3, Mamma Mia! and The Hunt For The Red October.

He’s also popped up in the MCU as Dr Erik Selvig in Thor, Avengers, Thor: The Dark World and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

He has no less than eight children, of whom Bill is the fourth eldest – born in 1990.

Three of his other offspring are also actors: Gustaf and Valter Skarsgard have primarily had recognition in their homeland of Sweden, but Alexander Skarsgard is another international star.

The 41-year-old is best known for playing Eric Northman in True Blood, and he also earned an Emmy nod for playing Perry in Big Little Lies earlier this year.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel’s chatshow last night, Bill joked: “He has eight kids, and the first rule is you have to be an actor!
