The Destiny 2 servers are already live for those who have physical copies of the game and will be launching live at midnight, globally.
However, server queues could be the first thing that hits players trying to access the game on PS4 and Xbox One.
That’s the warning from Bungie today, who posted the new warning as the Destiny 2 release time arrived for digital customers around the world.
“During periods of high traffic, players may encounter the Destiny server login queue,” a message from Bungie explains.
“Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 feature separate queues. Destiny server queues regulate player population to provide stable conditions for Destiny gameplay.”

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.
The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.
Bungie also wants Destiny 2 players to note the following:
- If a player loses connection or is removed from the queue, their placement will not be retained
- If a player reaches the front of this queue and is unable to connect to Destiny servers, they will have to re-enter the queue to try again
- Queue times may vary, depending on server traffic and concurrent population
As the global launch of Destiny 2 reaches North America, it’s likely that this queuing will increase.
That’s because all of the United States will be able to logon as soon as it reaches midnight on the East Coast.
The likelihood of a server surge is high, however, it’s hoped that enough people would have logged off around the globe to negate the effect.
It’s also been revealed that Destiny 2 fans who don’t want to miss a second of the action can pay a visit to their local GAME store at midnight tonight.
GAME has announced which stores will be holding midnight launches ahead of the Destiny 2 release date.
And with more than 200 stores opening from 11pm later today (September 5), there are plenty to choose from.
GAME pre-order customers will receive the Exotic weapon Coldheart and the exclusive Kill-Tracker Ghost.
Anybody who can’t make it to GAME should also try local 24-hour supermarkets like Tesco, ASDA and Sainsbury’s.
