11.45pm: The best news of the night so far is we are all but guaranteed to start on time. Federer’s last much did not see him get out on court until after 9pm New York time, or 2am in the UK, thanks to an overrunning day session.
However, Karolina Pliskova, Rafael Nadal and CoCo Vandeweghe all obliged with straight sets wins on Arthur Ashe earlier today meaning the Swiss and his German opponent will be on court at exactly 7pm local, in about 15 minutes’ time.
