North Korea – Nigel Farage hails Trump for standing up to ‘irrational MADMAN’ Kim Jong-un

The former Ukip leader spoke in response to radio caller Rob on his LBC show on Monday, who called on the United States to “step down from their role as world police”.

But the Brexiteer on this occasion, the US President was correct to confront the rogue state, which Mr Farage said was led by a “pretty irrational madman”.

He said: “I agree with that Rob and what’s interesting Rob, of course, is that in many ways Trump was elected saying that America should interfere and get involved with military conflicts far less than it had done under the Clintons, the Bushes and the Obamas.

“But I think Rob and you know I do know the guy a little bit, I think that he genuinely views the North Korean regime as rogue, as out of control and posing a genuine threat to world peace.”

The caller spoke of past tensions with the Soviet Union being diffused using “dialogue”.

Mr Farage said: “Well it was sorted out by dialogue, it was sorted out by money and technology too wasn’t it…

“I’m not saying to you that I think a preemptive strike should be launched but I am saying that I think the Americans are right about this and somebody has got to stand up to this guy that I frankly think is a pretty irrational madman.”

The comments come after the secretive state claimed to have successfully tested a hydrogen bomb.

The test follows further provocation after fired missiles into the Sea of Japan sparking global condemnation of the strikes.

Mr Trump has since threatened the country with military action after Pyongyang boasted it had tested the hydrogen bomb, a device 10 times more powerful than an atomic bomb, in an underground bunker in the north of the country.

North Korea claimed its sixth nuclear test was a “perfect success”, hours after seismologists detected an earth tremor in the area, which measured 6.3 on the Richter scale.

Experts said the blast was four to five times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Nagasaki at the end of the Second World War.

Military chiefs warned the device could be loaded onto an intercontinental-ballistic missile and reach US territory.

President Trump took to Twitter to condemn the action before warning that North Korea would “only understand one thing”.
