Pennywise is about to storm into cinemas worldwide this weekend. The first trailer smashed records and anticipation is sky-high for a desperately-needed boost to the global box office after a soggy summer slump wetter than the UK weather.
One cruel (but hilarious) hidden camera show even filmed poor members of the public being terrified when Pennywise jumped out at them. The world is going IT-crazy.
The movie has been adapted for the big screen by director Andres Muschietti, who has made some major changes to the original source material.
Author and all-round horror legend Stephen King has finally spoken out and revealed what he thinks of all the tampering with his iconic 1986 novel.
All the advance promotional teasers, trailer and imagery have revealed that the latest big screen adaptation retains the key imagery of a Pennywise and the Losers Club.

The action, however has been moved forward in time to the 1980s.
Even more crucially, the entire structure of the novel has been changed. In the book, everything starts in the ‘present day’ before scenes flash backwards and forwards in time between the Losers Club as children and as adults.
Muschietti has changed this to give a linear plot structure which only features the children, with a view to tackling the adults separately in a sequel.
In an video posted on YouTube, the author said: “I had hopes, but I was not prepared for how good it (the new movie) really was. It’s something that’s different, and at the same time, it’s something that audiences are gonna relate to.
“They’re gonna like the characters. It’s all about character. If you like the characters — if you care — the scares generally work.”
