Samsung J7+ is the second smartphone from South Korean company to feature a dual-camera set-up.
And while it’s not a budget device by any stretch of the imagination, it doesn’t reach the heights scaled by the pricey Galaxy Note 8.
The Galaxy Note 8, which was unveiled at an exclusive launch event last month, uses a 12MP telephoto lens coupled with a dual-pixel 12MP wide-angle camera.
Both cameras have OIS (optical image stabilisation) to ensure better quality images in low-light and stable video footage.
Unlike the J5+, the Galaxy Note 8’s camera set-up can handle 2x optical zoom.

Samsung unveiled the J7+ on its Thai website.
The new phone sports a 13-megapixel f/1.7 sensor and a second five-megapixel f/1.9 sensor.
Like the flagship Galaxy Note 8, these two sensors can be used to create a bokeh-style blur to the background of your photographs.
This software effect can be adjusted in real-time within the camera app.
Samsung also says the dual-camera system will enable improved photos in tougher, low-light conditions.
This dual-camera is easily the highlight of an otherwise fairly standard mid-range device.
On the front, Samsung has fitted a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and crystal-clear video chats.
The J7+ is powered by a 2.4GHz octacore MediaTek Helio P20 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM.
It supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, has fingerprint scanner built into the Homer Button, and includes 32GB of inbuilt storage, although this can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD.
Elsewhere, J7+ sports a 5.5-inch with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution.
It’s also an Always On display, which lets you view the time, upcoming calendar appointments, and notifications without having to wake the screen.
Charging and syncing is handled over USB Type-C.
The J7+ is now available for pre-order in Thailand for around $390, some £300 converted.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether the J7+ will be coming to UK shores anytime soon.
