Joshua’s promoters Matchroom Boxing confirmed today that on October 28 he will return to the ring for the first time since beating Wladimir Klitschko.
The Brit will face his IBF mandatory challenger to ensure he is not stripped of the belt he first won with a second-round knockout of Charles Martin in April 2016.
And Betfair have shown their confidence in Joshua’s ability by installing him as a 25/1-on favourite to win the fight.
“October 28 can’t come soon enough, I have been eager to get back in the ring since Wembley and now we are confirmed and ready,” Joshua said today.
“I’ll be locked away focusing on fight number 20 for the next eight weeks.

“I am excited to experience the atmosphere in a sold out Principality Stadium and aim to give the fans a spectacular night.”
Joshua will be aiming to record the 20th knockout of his professional career having come of age against Klitschko.
The legendary Ukrainian, who has since retired from boxing, became the first man to knock Joshua down in the paid ranks.
However, the 27-year-old got up off the canvas to record a sensational 11th-round stoppage and win his second world championship belt.
Pulev has also faced Klitschko, back in 2014 when the Bulgarian suffered the only defeat of his career.
And while the shared opponent backs up Pulev’s current 10/1 price to win the fight, the 36-year-old is supremely confident of causing an update.
“We will not hug and hold, we will not run; we will stand and fight,” Pulev said.
“His style fits mine perfectly and in boxing, styles make fights.
“My preparation will be very intense, and I will be perfectly ready when I enter the ring so that he will have no chance to beat me.”
