Kelly Clarkson new album: LISTEN to new song snippet HERE as release date is confirmed

The original American Idol winner has revealed that her new track will land this Thursday, September 7.

The exact time is unknown – meaning in UK terms it could be the early hours of Friday, September 8.

A preview video shared to the her Twitter account yesterday played what appears to be the intro to the single, alongside images of her eyes and of a flower blooming.

Rumours suggest the track is called Love So Soft, although this has not been officially announced; with some sources also touting Move You as a possible first cut.

The song marks Clarkson’s first output since signing a new record deal. Her 2015 opus Piece By Piece officially completed her work with 19 and RCA, and she is now with Atlantic.

Her seven studio albums – including one Christmas set – have all been Top 3 hits in the USA, with three (Thankful, All I Ever Wanted and Piece By Piece) all hitting No1 in the country.

She’ll have tough competition this weekend, as Sam Smith is also expected to release new music this Friday, September 8.

She said of her new material earlier this year: “It’s got a lot of sass — like I might beat you up with my sound.

“My backup singers who’ve worked with me for years said ‘It’s the first time you’ve done a record that’s, like, full-on your personality.’

“I’ve always been a confident person, I think that’s just being Texan. But I think being a mom has brought another level of confidence, because basically the things a mom does daily — without adding a job — is pretty insane. We’re gladiators, basically.”

Clarkson’s new album is expected later in 2017.
