Pokemon Go update news: Legendary Raids LIVE and are hiding something big

The latest Pokemon Go update brought with it new Legendary Beasts that can be faced in the game’s existing Raid battles.

Not part of the upcoming EX Raids with Mewtwo, Raikou, Entei and Suicune are now live to battle across the world.

It’s now being reported that the base capture rate for these new Pokemon is pretty low, meaning they will be challenge to catch.

The Pokemon Go Legendary Raids BCR is apparently set at just 2% for all three, putting it in the same ballpark as Lugia.

That hasn’t stopped the steady flow of reports from Trainers who have been successful in catching one of the new Legendary picks.

And there might be an even bigger surprise waiting for fans who manage to face-off against one of the Gen 2 beasts.

Dataminers have confirmed that the Shiny variants of these Pocket Monsters are part of the game’s code but don’t look to have been released yet.

That means that Niantic will certainly be doing something with them in the future.

As we have yet to receive a proper shiny launch for the Legendary birds, it would seem that these new beasts will be at the back of the pack in terms of release date.

As Niantic have explained, All three Pocket Monsters will make their debut at the same time, albeit in different locations.

This means that Pokemon Go Trainers will have the chance to take them on one at a time, before they’re switched out.

On September 30, all three of these Legendary Pokémon will move to a different location and will be available for Trainers to battle with friends until October 31.

They will make their final stop in the last remaining location on October 31. Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will be available for this limited time period.

Niantic has also revealed more about Exclusive Raids, which are now called Ex Raid Battles.

Trainers will start getting invites as Niantic tests the Mewtwo Raids throughout September.

Ex Raid Battles will begin at select Gyms before being rolled out globally.

“We have collected some valuable early feedback on the new EX Raid Battle feature and will look to further test and hone the experience through the feedback of the dedicated global Trainer community,” Niantic explains.

“During the field test, we’ll be making periodic adjustments to EX Raid eligibility requirements, frequency, times, locations, and durations with the goal of making the EX Raid Battle feature engaging, rewarding, and most importantly, fun for Trainers who regularly participate in Raid Battles.|

The Ex Raid Battle invites will be sent out soon, giving select players the chance to try them on September 6.
