Winds of Winter SHOCK: Does THIS prove Jon Snow will be revealed as Azor Ahai reborn?

After months of speculation, fans of the books and TV show now know  Jon Snow is Aegon Targaryen.

As the legitimate son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, he is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

However a new fan theory from CinemaBlend argues that Jon is the prince that was promised, Azar Ahai reborn, something that could be revealed in The Winds of Winter, or the final novel – A Dream of Spring.

The first bit of evidence comes from A Clash of Kings, when Dannerys Targaryen – Jon’s lover and Auntie – sees a vision of Rhaegar after the birth of Aegon, saying that he is “the prince that was promised” and “his is the song of ice and fire.”

Of course in the books Aegon is not Jon Snow, but the son of Rhaegar and Elia, so perhaps Jon will be named something else in The Winds of Winter.

Nevertheless, if Rhaegar felt Jon – whatever his real name will be in the books – was the prince promised over his two older children, he might have wanted to end his marriage with Elia so that a child he had with Lyanna would be first in line for the Iron Throne straight after him.

Another piece of evidence is Jon’s special sword Longclaw, which could be revealed as Lightbringer, the blade of legend wielded by Azor Ahai in his first life.

And if the scene in Game of Thrones where Jon is resurrected has any significance, the Lord of Light still has plans for him, as mentioned by Beric Dondarrion in Season 7’s Beyond the Wall.

Lastly, and mostly shockingly of all, Azor Ahai had to empower his sword by stabbing his lover Nissa Nissa in the heart.

Perhaps Jon will have to do this to Daenerys once they both know who he really is?
