Destiny 2 trailer: Live-action Bungie adventure debuts ahead of PS4 and Xbox One release

Featuring The Beastie Boys – “Sabotage” the new Destiny 2 trailer was launched today following a teaser clip being released earlier this week.

It shows a new group of Guardians as they take on the threat and the destruction of Earth’s Last City.

Giving a rousing speech, Cayde 6 talks about the game’s main plot points, before riling up everyone to fight for the puppies.

You can find the new Destiny 2 live-action trailer below, which has gone live ahead of the official PS4 and Xbox One release date.

Activision, Bungie, 72andSunny, RSA Films, and Framestore came together to create the blockbuster live-action trailer for the global launch celebration of Destiny 2.

The two-minute live-action spot, “New Legends Will Rise,” is directed by Kong: Skull Island Director, Jordan Vogt-Roberts.

“Everything you love about Earth is gone. Except for the Last City,” the official Bungie description teases.

“And now a psycho rhino named Ghaul is coming to take that away too.

“On September 6, it’s time to grab some big guns, unite our scattered heroes, and take back our home.”

Bungie recently revealed some of the major changes to the Destiny 2 Companion App ahead of the Destiny 2 PC beta.

The update introduced new features designed to make it easier to keep up to date with Destiny 2 news.

“Ever since the original launch of Destiny, millions of Guardians have discovered a toolset that lets them interact with the entire world of the game and the community that plays it,” reads a Bungie statement.

“We call it the Destiny Companion. It’s an experience that spans your desktop and your smart phone. Like your Ghost, it’s there to help you navigate your path to legendary status.”

The Destiny 2 Companion update went live on August 23, taking over from the original Destiny support.

Bungie continues: “To hold these upgrades in the palm of your hand, you’ll need to update your app. This will overwrite the Destiny 1 version of the companion and the Destiny 2 services will not be online until after the launch of the game on September 6.

“Destiny 1’s API will still remain active. So if you are looking for D1 gear management or stat tracking, the community will continue to have you covered with the apps they’ve created.”
