Chelsea transfer news: Fernando Llorente blow as Tottenham match £15m bid – report

Antonio Conte is set for a busy final few hours in the transfer window as he looks to bolster his squad.

He has already been frustrated in his attempts to sign Romelu Lukaku and most recently Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who have joined Manchester United and Liverpool respectively, with the latter set to be announced at some point today.

Diego Costa has been told he has no future at Chelsea and is expected to complete a move away from Stamford Bridge before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

Alvaro Morata was drafted in during the summer as the new first-choice striker at Chelsea.

But Michy Batshuayi has failed to make a big enough impression on Conte to be regarded as the Blues’ back-up striker.

And the Italian coach has been targeting a move for Llorente to provide more competition for his forwards.

Chelsea have reportedly offered £15m to sign the striker from Swansea.

But Goal report Tottenham have now matched the Blues’ offer to spark a bidding war between the two London clubs.

Swansea are reportedly resigned to losing the 32-year-old and are on the hunt for a replacement with Chelsea believed to be the favourites for his signature.

But it is said Mauricio Pochettino is quietly confident they can steal Llorente from under Chelsea’s noses.
