Last week saw the announcement of five new Joker movies from Warner Bros.
Apart from Suicide Squad 2, Gotham City Sirens, a Joker and Harley Quinn movie and Flashpoint, there’s an unrelated origin story for the villain coming too.
Set apart from the DC Expanded Universe, this Joker origin story will star another actor other than Jared Leto and be directed by The Hangover’s Todd Phillips
Now MMA fighter and actor Brendan Schaub has claimed he’s heard more details from Phillips’ agent Todd Feldman.
Speaking on Joe Rogen Experience, he said: “My boy Todd Feldman put this together with Todd Phillips. It’s dark. It’s like a dark Joker.

“As a kid, he had a permanent smile and everyone made fun of him. It’s like on the streets of Brooklyn. It’s super dark and real.”
When the Joker origin movie was announced last week, Deadline reported it will be “a gritty and grounded hard-boiled crime film set in early-‘80s Gotham City.”
The film will also be produced by Martin Scorsese, with it having more of a Taxi Driver and Raging Bull feel compared to other DC movies.
The most famous Joker origin story is Watchmen writer Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke, which was adapted by Warner Bros as an animated movie last year.
The Killing Joke has had major influence on Batman directors Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan, who had The Joker in their Dark Knight movies.
The film, who saw Mark Hamill voice the villain once again, also included the paralysis of Barbara Gordon (Batgirl), who eventually became Oracle.
