Forget Destiny 2 beta on PC, here’s Bungie’s PS4 and Xbox One DLC plans

Bungie are currently busy supporting the ongoing Destiny 2 beta on PC.

The new playtest is set to last another few days before being wrapped and the new data analysed ahead of the game’s launch.

PC fans have until August 31th, likely around 6pm UK time, to enjoy all the new content available in-game right now.

This includes The Farm, Destiny 2’s new area, which replaces The Tower from the original Destiny as the social space for Guardians.

But while Destiny PC fans will be pumped to finally try out the game, there’s more exciting news this week.

According to Kotaku, the Destiny 2’s first DLC details have been leaked, weeks before the release date on PS4 and Xbox One.

This will include more content than was provided with Destiny 1’s first DLC and will be called – Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris.

This new expansion is scheduled to arrive in December, three months after the original launch on consoles.

“Destiny 2’s first DLC will center on the space wizard Osiris, sources say, and it will come with a patrol zone and new social space, making it significantly bigger than 2014’s The Dark Below,” Kotaku reveal.

“The Curse of Osiris will come with a patrol zone on the planet Mercury and a social space on the Lighthouse, an area that in Destiny 1 was only available to players who netted flawless records in the player vs. player gauntlet Trials of Osiris.

“The DLC’s story will revolve around saving Osiris—who has been mentioned quite a bit in Destiny lore but not yet seen in the game—from the robotic alien Vex.”

With all the information in place, it would seem that an announcement concerning Destiny 2’s first DLC could be made soon after launch.

Paris Games Week is being held in late October, with PlayStation confirmed to be holding a press conference.

Bungie are unlikely to confirm these reports until after the launch of Destiny 2, which is set for September 6 on PS4 and Xbox One.

Destiny 2 has a different release date for PC, which is currently set for October 24.

It should be noted that the development team have warned that they are ready to delay launch on PC if the game requires more time.
