The actress made a brief appearance in Marvel‘s Captain America: The First Avenger back in 2011.
Her role was Connie, and the appearance did enable her to spend a few moments alongside global superstar Chris Evans on-screen.
Sadly Connie never made another appearance in the MCU, despite the fact that Bucky (Sebastian Stan) – whose date Connie was – returned multiple times.
Bucky is also set to be seen again in Avengers: Infinity War next year.
Coleman’s not been lacking in work, though.
Since leaving Emmerdale in 2009 her feet have barely touched the ground: she shot nine episodes of Waterloo Road before going in to the TV Titanic adaptation, Me Before You, and – of course – Doctor Who.
Now, she’s back for a second season of Victoria, in which she plays the title role.
She’s not the only Doctor Who alum who’s had a role in the MCU.
Karen Gillan is the most obvious example – she’s currently portraying Nebula in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
Christopher Eccleston – an actual former Doctor – has also popped up as Malekith in Thor: The Dark World, while Toby Jones – who was the Dream Lord in Who – played Dr. Arnim Zola in the Captain America films.
Victoria returns to ITV at 9pm tonight.
