World of Warcraft fans battle in front of computer screens. 

The Fortnite booth at Gamescom features a mechanical llama. 

Miriam, a woman from Hamburg (who didn’t provide her last name), spent 300 hours making a costume for the World of Warcraft character Mila Phylales. “The character doesn’t have an official humanoid form,” Miriam says, so she created her own version of what Mila could look like. 

The Nintendo Switch has been difficult to buy since it was released earlier this year. 

Fans can wait in line for hours to play the latest video games, so many brought their own chairs and decks of cards. 

It’s not just male teenagers at Gamescom. Plenty of families and children also attend to play new games.

This is the line for the first day of Gamescom, which was a Wednesday. Imagine how busy it gets on the weekend.

About 350,000 people attend Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, each year. And you sure can tell when you’re trying to walk around the convention center.

Samsung’s booth at Gamescom is the smallest Samsung booth that CNET’s Shara Tibken has ever seen, and she’s seen a lot of ’em.
