Scottie Nell Hughes, a former CNN commentator, rubbished political pundits who spoke out against the Republican billionaire and told them to “tone down their rhetoric”.
Speaking on The World This Weekend on BBC Radio 4, Ms Hughes said: “Those within the media, those political pundits that go on air and they bash President Trump.
“When you are bashing President Trump, if you are a Trump supporter, you are seeing that that person is bashing you personally.
“They’re attacking your family, they’re attacking your ideals, they’re attacking you.
“We have large egos here in the United States, I don’t know if you’re familiar with that.

“When you insult us, as every day Trump supporters feel like they are being insulted time and time again, I would hope that those who are political pundits on air would tone down, talk about toning down their rhetoric and stop insulting the millions who voted for President Trump and his supporters.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s deputy assistant has left his position.
Dr Gorka cited “forces” that do not support the “Make America Great Again” agenda as the reason for his resignation.
In his resignation letter, seen by Politico, he said: “Regrettably, outside of yourself, the individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will ‘Make America Great Again,’ have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined in recent months.
“As a result, the best and most effective way I can support you, Mr President, is from outside the People’s House.”
His resignation follows a number of high-profile departures from the White House, including Mr Bannon, chief of staff Reince Priebus and press secretary Sean Spicer.
