McGregor Mayweather: Conor McGregor roars ‘Las Vegas is Ireland now’ after weigh-in

‘The Notorious’ weighed in at 153lbs while his opponent Mayweather fell four-and-a-half pounds short (149.5lbs) of the 154lbs limit at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

McGregor and Mayweather have locked horns verbally on several occasions in the build-up to the biggest fight of the year, which is set to take place in the early hours of Sunday morning at around 5am.

But had the crowd on his side and seemed to claim the bragging rights here ahead of their bout – which will be contested with 8oz gloves – by taunting the American about not making weight.

He also claimed ‘Las Vegas is Ireland now’ to try and once again get under the skin of the undefeated boxer, who is looking to take his record to 50 wins.

The Irishman said: “He looks blown out and out of shape. That’s the worst shape I’ve ever seen him.

“There is a saying ‘You’ll never beat the Irish’ and it is true. We roll in and take over.

“Las Vegas is Ireland now.”

When asked about his tactics for the fight, he added: “I will stomp my foot in the centre of that ring and let’s see how he takes it.”

However, insisted he will silence McGregor by ending his career when the face-off in the ring.

“Weight doesn’t win fights, fighting wins fights,” he said.

“It won’t go the distance, mark my words.”

“This will be Conor McGregor’s last fight also.”

He added: “I’ve been here before. I know what it takes when it’s a fight of this magnitude.”
