The popular photo sharing network appears to be offline for thousands of users with many left unable to access the site.
Independent website Down Detector, which measures social mentions around a certain topic to track outages across the globe, shows some users reporting issues with the Instagram website throughout the UK and parts of mainland Europe and the USA.
Users across the globe are reporting problems with the social network website every minute, Down Detector data has revealed.

The Internet-based photo-sharing application and service that allows fans to share pictures and videos either publicly or privately now has over 700 million active users.
One user posted a message online revealing Instagram “Wouldn’t refresh or load, logged out, won’t let me log back in, says error!”
It’s currently unclear what is causing the problems but it could be linked to Facebook.
Instagram was acquired by Facebook in April 2012 for approximately US$1 billion in cash and the social network is also struggling today.
Facebook is currently down with users face with message reporting that the service is undergoing maintenance.
It’s not been a good week for Facebook with the social network facing a major outage earlier this week.
The service went offline for hours leaving thousands unable to access their profile page.
Facebook has spoken out about the outage.
A spokesperson for the US social network told Express.co.uk, “Earlier today some people may have had trouble accessing Facebook on the desktop version of Chrome for a short period of time. We’re back to 100% for everyone, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience.”
