Lufthansa plane EMERGENCY: Passenger jet declares midair alert over France

The plane flew over France on its way to the Colombian capital but appears to have turned back around the western French coast.

The flight had been due to arrive in Bogota later this evening.

The reason for the emergency is not yet known.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the flight is set to be rescheduled and will leave Frankfurt at 8.30pm local time this evening.
