Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 2: New reveal confirms Black Manta date and DLC character details

For anyone who missed today’s big announcement, Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 2 includes some pretty surprising DLC choices.

While fans were pretty sure that Black Manta was about to enter the fray, they probably couldn’t guess that Hellboy was also going to be included.

A new trailer was released today, showing some of the most recent additions to the game looking pretty beat up.

Both the Red Hood and Sub-Zero are seen, having taken a pasting.

This is where both Raiden and Black Manta appear, before the big reveal of Hellboy emerging from the shadows.

Neither Raiden or Hellboy are part of the DC universe but will netherless help add more variety to the already-packed Injustice 2 characters list.

NetherRealm have confirmed that a new Black Manta character trailer will debut on August 27, following the incorrect date being posted in the trailer.

This seems to suggest that Black Manta will be the first character launched of the new Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 2 bunch.

According to Kotaku, “The first fighter from the pack will be available when Fighter Pack 2 goes on sale September 12.

“If Fighter Pack 1 was any indication, expect the other two fighters to trickle out over the months to follow.”

Hellboy is a character created at Dark Horse comics, a half-demon occult detective who may or may not be the Beast of the Apocalypse.

There are, at this moment, 13 Hellboy graphic novel collections, several spin-off titles (BPRD, LOBSTER JOHNSON, ABE SAPIEN and WITCHFINDER), 3 anthologies of prose stories, several novels, 2 animated films and 2 live action films starring Ron Perlman.

Here’s the official Black Manta DC Biography: “A ruthless treasure hunter and mercenary, the man known as Black Manta spent his days scavenging the unexplored depths of the ocean, discovering long lost relics and powerful mythical items, all while taking on various jobs to fund his passion. Until one particular job changed his life.

“Hired to bring back a sample of Arthur Curry’s blood, Black Manta encountered the young Aquaman and his father while the two were out at sea. In the ensuing struggle, Aquaman’s father suffered a heart attack that ultimately led to his death.

“Seeking revenge, Aquaman hunted down Black Manta—and accidentally killed his father in retaliation. Thus began a circle of vengeance that forever bonded hero and villain.”

The Raiden coming to Injustice 2 is likely the one from Mortal Kombat X, who was having a bit of trouble in his own universe.

Shinnok’s attack on Earthrealm included his army of Netherrealm demons, as well as the Earthrealm kombatants that were killed during Kahn’s invasion.
