Google Pixel 2 release date revealed and here’s why it could be better than Galaxy Note 8

rebooted Pixel could be just weeks away from launch if this latest leak is to be believed.

Serial leaker Evan Blass has just posted a message on Twitter stating the Pixel 2 will be unveiled on October 5th.

Blass has good record for getting things right and many experts had already suggested an October launch was likely.

The Pixel 2 is expected to bring some major improvements to Google’s own-brand smartphone and could feature a bigger edge-to-edge display, better camera and tweaked design.

A recent leak also suggests that Google is planning to bring a feature first included on HTC’s new U11.

A filing made to the FCC shows that the which will allow users to perform tasks by simply squeezing the phone.

This feature will be called “Active Edge” and could help users take pictures and summon Google’s Assistant without touching the display.

The new smartphone will also come which was announced by Google earlier in the week.

However, another piece of leaked information could put the Pixel 2 one step ahead of its rivals, including the recently unveiled Galaxy Note 8.

Along with revealing the launch date, Blass also confirmed that the Pixel 2 will be running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 processor.

It’s thought the Pixel 2 has been designed around these latest brains which could be marginally faster and offer better battery life than phones running the current 835 chip.

Google’s original Pixel was well received but the competition has since upped its game with bigger screens, better cameras and improved performance.

Along with its Android rivals, Google is also facing stiff competition from Apple.

The US technology firm is expected to reveal its new next month with many experts predicting a radical redesign.

The next generation iPhone could include an edge-to-edge display that will cover almost the entire front of the phone and have a new dual-lens camera.

Although there’s no confirmation about the iPhone 8 or Pixel 2, it seems smartphone fans have an exciting few months ahead.
