Call of Duty WW2 beta COUNTDOWN: Release date, start time and FREE CODES for PS4 beta

Call of Duty WW2 fans are counting down to the start of the PS4 beta.

Available to pre-order customers with a download code, the Call of Duty WW2 beta has an August 25 release date and a 6pm start time in the UK (10am PDT). The beta ends a few days later on August 28.

Unfortunately for Xbox One owners, the initial Call of Duty WW2 beta is only available on PS4.

A second beta period – for PS4 and Xbox One – begins on September 1 at 6pm UK time and finishes on September 4.

PS4 users don’t need a PlayStation Plus subscription to try the multiplayer beta, but Xbox One owners will need an Xbox Live Gold account to join in.

The only other drawback is that fans will need to to access the beta, which weighs in at around 17GB.

These codes are dished out to pre-order customers, although fans have discovered a sneaky way to get a free code for PS4.

PlayStation 4 owners who sign up for a Hong Kong PSN account can download the Call of Duty WW2 beta without pre-ordering the game.

The simple trick still works at the time of writing, and only takes a couple of minutes. Call of Duty fans can sign up for a Hong Kong account by visiting the PlayStation website

It’s possible Sony will put an end to this trick before the start of the beta, so it’s worth doing now.

The only other way to play the game without pre-ordering is by visiting the Insomnia61 gaming festival this weekend.

“PlayStation will be showing the latest game from the most popular series in the world – Call of Duty: WWII, where all attendees will be able to get their first ever hands-on experience with the Private Beta, ahead of the full release on November 3,” reads a festival statement.

Insomnia61 takes place at the Birmingham NEC from August 25 until August 28. Tickets are available from as little as £26.14 from the festival website.

The Call of Duty: WW2 multiplayer beta includes brand new maps and Sledgehammer’s new War Mode experience.

Fans can check out Operation Breakout in War Mode, enlist in all five divisions and check out the Pointe Du Hoc, Ardennes, and Gibraltar maps.

Infantry, Expeditionary, Airborne, Armored, and Mountain Division character classes all feature alongside a limited progression system.

Players will begin at Soldier Rank 1 and rank up to unlock weapons, scorestreaks, equipment, and Basic Training Skills.

New content is expected to be added during the Call of Duty WW2 beta.

Fans will be hoping that the unannounced content includes the recently revealed .

Reminiscent of Destiny’s Tower, the new social space will give players the chance to practice in the firing range, earn rewards by manning AA guns and more.

There’s even a 1-v-1 multiplayer Pit, as well as a dedicated area to watch eSports matches.

Hopefully it will be ready for Call of Duty WW2’s November 3 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
