Trump’s Stance on Potential Military Action
President Trump has remained ambiguous regarding potential US involvement in a mission targeting Fordo. Addressing reporters’ inquiries, he stated, “You don’t seriously think I’m going to answer that question…I may do it, I may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do.”
Trump cautioned that Tehran has a “maximum” of two weeks to abandon its nuclear ambitions to avoid potential American airstrikes.
Differing Intelligence Assessments
President Trump previously contradicted Director of National Intelligence regarding assessments of Iran’s nuclear program. While the director testified that there was “no evidence” of Iran building a nuclear weapon, Trump stated, “She’s wrong. My intelligence community is wrong.”
The director has since clarified that Iran could develop nuclear weapons “within weeks to months, if they decide to finalize the assembly.”

Potential complications exist regarding a potential American strike against Fordo, located approximately 60 miles southwest of Tehran.
