The studio has opted to forgo announcing a new launch timeframe, choosing instead to concentrate on enhancing the game through updates, fresh elements, and more. Marathon Release Delayed: Focusing on Enhanced Gameplay
“Through every piece of feedback and ongoing discussions on social media and Discord, your input has been invaluable,” stated the Marathon Dev Team at Bungie in a recent message. “We’ve seriously considered this feedback, recognizing the necessity for additional time to mold Marathon into the game that genuinely embodies your enthusiasm. Following extensive deliberations within our Development team, we’ve reached the conclusion to postpone the September 23rd launch.”
Alpha Testing and Future Development
Bungie further explained that the recent Alpha testing phase provided the Marathon team with an opportunity to fine-tune and prioritize the elements that will establish the game as a compelling entry in the survival FPS genre. They will conduct further closed testing, including participants from the Alpha, to implement gameplay improvements and assess new features as they are developed over the coming months. These features include enhancements to the survival aspects, an expanded Marathon universe, and enriched social interactions.
