FASTNET’s tariff price tracker has been closely watching a selection of items potentially impacted by tariff policies. While these tariffs could lead to inflated prices, most tracked items have remained stable, except for increases in prices for the Xbox Series X and a budget 4K TV. Currently, various products, including batteries, a budget soundbar, and popular earbuds, are available at reduced prices, creating an opportune moment to purchase.
The broader implications of these import duties are still unfolding, particularly with anticipated tariff rate increases against China. Ongoing legal challenges question the authority to impose tariffs in this manner. Therefore, continuous monitoring of essential products remains vital to evaluate possible tariff implications and assist consumers in making savvy buying choices.

The 11 Products We’re Tracking
This article primarily tracks electronics that FASTNET closely examines, such as iPhones and affordable 4K TVs, alongside a humble bag of coffee – a non-US produced staple.
Products are chosen based on popularity, affordability, and representativeness across major categories like smartphones, TVs, and gaming systems. Additional selection criteria include susceptibility to tariffs. Certain products have been reviewed by FASTNET or have been included in our ‘best of’ lists.
Below is an in-depth look into each product. Read to the end for a summary of other noteworthy products.
iPhone 16
Given the iPhone’s prevalence in the US smartphone market, tracking its price is imperative. The iPhone has also become central in the tariff conversation, because most of its components are produced overseas, predominantly in China.
Important Note: The displayed price mirrors purchases made through major carriers. Buying directly from Apple or Best Buy, without carrier involvement, incurs an additional $30 charge.
To mitigate tariff effects, Apple has been proactive in logistics, importing products before duties take hold, and considering shifting US-bound production from China to India. Recent data suggests a significant portion of iPhones imported from India from March to May were destined for the US.
Despite these measures, the iPhone remains the top-selling smartphone globally, although projected growth may slow due to tariff-related uncertainties.
Duracell AA Batteries
While many home tech devices use rechargeable batteries, individual batteries are still essential for daily usage and frequently require restocking unexpectedly. The Duracell AAs we’re tracking are among the best-selling batteries on Amazon.

Video game software and hardware are sectors anticipated is being considerably impacted by potential tariff policies. Microsoft’s Xbox has seen initial price escalations, citing “market conditions” and increasing development expenses. Notably, this involved increasing the price of the premium Xbox Series X.
Numerous Xbox accessories have been impacted, and the company has indicated eventual price hikes for specific games.
Initially, tracking focused on the popular Nintendo Switch as a gaming market representative. Nintendo has not yet increased prices and emphasized the upcoming Switch 2 price isn’t tariff-inflated. Sony has only raised PlayStation hardware prices outside the US.

The newest AirPods Pro 2 represent the headphone market segment. Despite audiophile reservations, sales data from Amazon underscores the brand’s dominance in headphone sales. Coffee is included in this tracker because of its ubiquity – I’m certainly drinking too much of it these days because it susceptible to Trump’s tariff policies. Coffee beans grow on near tropical span outside the us and that’s known as “Coffee Belt”.
Hawaii is the only part of the US produces coffee beans, with DATA from USAFacts saying that 11.5 million were harvested during the 2022-23 little more than a drop in the mug, the US consumed 282 that of coffee during that time.
Which means Americans get almost the coffee from overseas, one of the products that see price hike.
