O’Day Subpoenaed, Ready to Testify

A source exclusively confirmed that O’Day, 41, received a subpoena and journeyed to New York City to testify “sometime this week or next week” as the legal proceedings advance. Jury selection for the trial started on May 5, with opening statements commencing on Monday, May 12. Diddy has entered a plea of not guilty to all accusations.

“It’s nerve-wracking, but she’s ready. She’s not going to back down. She wants justice for everyone,” the source conveyed, also alluding to a forthcoming project by O’Day related to the Diddy trial.

Social Media Hinted at Legal Involvement

O’Day subtly revealed her New York City travel plans via an Instagram post on Wednesday, May 14.

“Hey New York!!! Where y’all think I should head first?” O’Day captioned a video, complemented by a weighing scale emoji, traditionally symbolizing justice within the legal system.

Danity Kane and Diddy’s Bad Boy Records

O’Day’s professional relationship with Diddy began after her appearance on MTV’s Making the Band 3 in 2005. Her talent shone, leading to her selection as a member of the girl group Danity Kane, signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, alongside Dawn Richard and Shannon Bex. However, in 2008, during the Making the Band 4 finale, Diddy announced O’Day’s removal from the group.

O’Day’s Past Remarks

Over the years, O’Day has openly discussed her past interactions with Diddy. More recently, she described a profound “big shift” in her life following the surfacing of allegations against Diddy.

“It’s all still very ongoing,” she told Kaitlyn Bristowe during a September 2024 episode of the “Off the Vine” podcast. “Everything is. It’s very chaotic. It’s very emotional and stressful, and every day there’s a new little twist and turn. I can’t really talk about any of it right now.”

Diddy’s Charges and Legal Defense

Diddy, 55, was taken into custody in September 2024, facing charges including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation for prostitution purposes. He entered a not guilty plea to all charges, refuting the allegations leveled against him.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said in a statement at the time. “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Since his arrest, Diddy has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His four requests for bail were denied by Judge Arun Subramanian.
