However, just two weeks before, the Albury-Wodonga vet suffered a significant facial injury during a netball game. Her story highlights the dedication and resilience required even before gracing the stage. This incident serves as a reminder that pageant contestants are multifaceted individuals who overcome obstacles.

The Injury Unveiled

The Miss Universe National finalist took to TikTok to detail her accidental fall and resulting injuries, which included a fractured tooth. Her candid posts resonated with many, showcasing her vulnerability and determination.

  • Murphy shared a series of clips describing the incident as the “worst possible case scenario,” excluding any broken bones preventing mobility.

The Aftermath: Bruises and Swelling

Despite trying to shield herself, Murphy’s cheek and eye made contact with the court surface, resulting in a fractured tooth and significant bruising. Her ability to maintain a positive attitude resonated with her followers.

“I mean, if you don’t laugh, you cry – right?” she quipped.

Documenting the Healing Process

Murphy documented her injury healing progress, expressing discomfort and sleeplessness. A subsequent video on day two showed significant swelling in her eye, just days before her trip to Vietnam. Her open and honest updates captivated her audience.

“I have 13 days until Vietnam with Miss Universe, and this is what my face looks like,” she revealed. “This morning my upper eyelid has completely blown up. I’ve got work today so I’m going to try my best to cover it up,” she added, while applying concealer.

Medical Check-Ups and Recovery

In another update, Murphy shared that a CT scan ruled out any facial fractures, assuaging concerns raised by her GP. A dentist also confirmed that the tooth fracture wouldn’t lead to any long-term issues. Murphy’s proactive approach to her health demonstrated her responsibility and commitment.

To aid healing, she used CeraVe Advanced Repair Balm, a cream designed for bruising, a Dr Dennis mask, a clinical LED mask, and regular ice applications. Her dedicated self-care regimen likely contributed to her speedy recovery.

The beauty queen focused on staying busy to distract herself from the pressure. Her positive mindset and active approach to recovery were noteworthy.

“The swelling, bruising and the wound has gone down. People told me to wrap myself up in cotton wool. Like, sorry, your girl’s not going to do that.”

She concluded by expressing gratitude for the support, encouragement, and advice she received during her recovery.

Vietnam Bound: A Red Dress and a Fresh Start

On Wednesday, Murphy posted her first photos from Vietnam on Instagram, showcasing a vibrant blood orange halter-neck mini dress. There was no visible trace of her recent injury. She proved that even setbacks don’t have to define us.

“Go you good thing! That panel will love you,” one fan cheered.

Another follower commented: “Yayyy amazing. I knew you’d be shocked how quickly it would heal and recover.”

“Yay, it’s looking so good,” another added.
