Male Escort Testifies He Overheard Sean “Diddy” Combs Assaulting Cassie
A male escort has testified he could hear Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly assaulting Cassie Ventura. Phillip testified on May 12 that on one occasion, when Ventura didn’t immediately obey Combs’ summons, Combs reportedly hurled a liquor bottle in her direction, seized her by the hair, and forcibly dragged her into the bedroom. According to Phillip, “She was screaming,” and from an adjacent room, “what I perceived sounded like him striking her.” Phillip recounted hearing Combs exclaim, “’I tell you to come here, you come here now, not later.’”
Fear and Inaction
Phillip stated he was “terrified” and refrained from intervening in the situation.
Hotel Incident Testimony
He further testified that he purportedly overheard Combs assaulting Ventura during a separate incident at the Essex House hotel in New York. “I heard her shouting, ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry,’ and sounds suggesting someone was being slapped and thrown around the room,” Phillip stated. “Subsequently, I observed Mr. Combs exiting the hotel without clothing, possibly only covered by a towel.”
Ventura’s Reaction and Plea
Ventura subsequently emerged from the room and sought solace in Phillip’s lap, he testified. “She essentially attempted to reassure me that ‘it’s OK’ and ‘I’ll be OK,’” Phillip continued. “And I responded, ‘It is not OK and you need to seek assistance.’”
Advice and Concern
“I attempted to convey to her that remaining with him placed her in significant peril,” Phillip added.
Reasons for Not Contacting Law Enforcement
When questioned by prosecutor Maureen Comey about his failure to alert the police, Phillip testified that he perceived Combs as “a person wielding boundless authority, and realistically, even if I were to involve the police, I might still risk losing my life.”
