SoundCloud says it isn’t using your music to train generative AI tools

The Terms of Service (TOS) expressly forbid leveraging copyrighted material, particularly music from prominent labels, to instruct AI models, encompassing generative AI. Regarding other content uploaded to SoundCloud, the TOS considers potential applications related to artificial intelligence.

Critically, no such utilization has occurred thus far, and SoundCloud will institute resilient internal authorization protocols to oversee any prospective future employment. If we ever contemplate employing user content for generative AI models training, we will introduce explicit opt-out options beforehand—at a minimum—and sustain dedication to openness with our community of creators.
