Harry Kane, the prolific goal scorer for Bayern Munich, achieved a long-awaited milestone: lifting a trophy. Kane’s pursuit of major honors culminated last Sunday when Bayern Munich secured the Bundesliga title, marking the end of a 15-year wait for the England captain.

Harry Kane Celebrates First Major Trophy with Bayern Munich

The momentous occasion was marked by joyous celebrations at the Allianz Arena following Bayern’s 2-0 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach. This Bundesliga title signifies Kane’s first major honor after 695 career matches.

‘It feels amazing to be honest,’ expressed Kane, the England national team captain. ‘Obviously it’s been a long time coming, a lot of hard work throughout the season and I’m just proud. Proud of the boys, proud of my family who are here, my kids are here. It’s just a great feeling and I’m looking forward to enjoying the next week.’

He added, ‘It has been one of the only things that has been missing from my resume but, look, it’s hopefully the first of many with this great club.’

A Decade-and-a-Half Wait Ends in Jubilation

Kane appeared elated as he reflected on the celebrations, which followed Bayer Leverkusen’s draw with SC Freiburg, sealing Bayern’s Bundesliga title win. The victory ensured it became impossible for Vincent Kompany’s side to catch them, handing Bayern the title.

The 31-year-old Kane joined in singing Queen’s “We Are the Champions” with former Tottenham teammate Eric Dier and the rest of Bayern’s squad.

Both Kane and Dier were also spotted enjoying cigars with teammate Joshua Kimmich during the festivities.

Sweet Victory: Kane Lifts the Bundesliga Trophy

Six days after the title was secured, Kane finally got his hands on the coveted trophy. Overjoyed, Kane kissed the trophy and raised it high above his head, as his teammates cheered around him following the final whistle.

  • Joined by his wife, Katie Goodland.
  • Celebrated with three of their four children on the pitch.

A Love Story Amidst the Celebrations

Kane and Goodland, childhood sweethearts from Larkswood Primary School, have shared a decades-long relationship. They became engaged in July 2017 and married in 2019, after the birth of their first two children.

From Tottenham to Triumph: Kane’s Journey

Kane, who played for Tottenham for nearly two decades, also scored in the 2-0 win, along with former Crystal Palace player Michael Olise. Despite his individual achievements and near-misses with Spurs, including several Premier League and Champions League campaigns, he never secured a club trophy during his time there.

Some observers speculated that he was cursed after missing out on Bundesliga glory last season, his first with Bayern Munich after a £95 million transfer from Spurs. That year, Bayern failed to win the Bundesliga for the first time in ten years, and finished the season without a trophy.

Looking Ahead: More Success on the Horizon?

With the trophy drought now over, Kane can concentrate on achieving further accolades, potentially including success with England at the World Cup next year. He celebrated his 695th game getting his hands on major silverware.

The Bayern squad celebrated at the gourmet restaurant Kafer in Munich’s Bogenhausen district, and included champagne, wine, and cigars.

Manuel Neuer had shared a photo of himself in the kitchen with a pan of risotto. ‘Celebration of champions (with asparagus risotto)!’ Neuer wrote on social media.

The Morning After: Kane Reflects on Celebrations

Kane reflected on the celebrations in a social media message. “What a night last night, what a celebration with the players, with the staff,” Kane said. “I’m sure everyone’s feeling it a little bit this morning but we’re here and I feel amazing.”

“It’s been a long time coming, obviously a lot of hard work and a lot of dedication. It just feels sweet to win the title and the first one of my career.”

“Appreciate all the support as always, it never goes unnoticed and I can’t wait to enjoy these next couple of weeks.”

“I can’t wait to be at the Allianz on Saturday and celebrate in front of the fans and then as always we look forward to the next one and we go again and try and get number two.”

Kane and his wife, Kate, reportedly departed the Bayern Munich celebrations at 1:34 a.m., eight hours after the squad had convened.
