The eagerly awaited launch of the latest season in Fortnite, boasting a Star Wars theme and a Battle Pass, has fans on the edge of their seats.
Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 3 is scheduled to go live on May 2 across multiple platforms, including PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, Android, and Nintendo Switch.
The new season will be accompanied by update v35.00, downloadable during an scheduled period of server maintenance beginning at 7 AM BST.
The Release and Downtime Details
The release date and timing for the server maintenance were unveiled by Epic Games via their X platform, offering a sneak peek into what players can anticipate from the upcoming season.
In a post, Epic Games teases, “Galactic Battle Awaits! Downtime for v35.00 begins at 2 AM ET with matchmaking concluding shortly before.”
As highlighted in the announcement, matchmaking will temporarily cease approximately 30 minutes before the full server downtime commences, preventing players from joining new matches.

The eagerly anticipated new season for Fortnite Chapter 6, designated as Galactic Battle, will immerse players in an expansive Star Wars universe.
Themed Locations and Characters
The map will feature various iconic locales inspired by Star Wars, accompanied by exclusive characters from the same cinematic universe in the Battle Pass.
The inaugural skin in the Battle Pass is Apprentice Evie, a “Force-sensitive vigilante” dedicated to spreading peace across the galaxy. Additionally, the season will introduce formidable characters such as Poe Dameron, Wookiee Team Leader, Emperor Palpatine, and General Grievous. Furthermore, the Item Shop will offer customizable versions of popular characters like Darth Jar Jar, Mace Windu, and the Mandalorian.
Map Additions and Enhancements
The revitalized map will include pivotal locations such as:
- The Resistance Base
- The First Order Base
- The Outpost Enclave
- Vader Samurai’s Solitude
- Returning POIs, featuring the iconic Crime City

Exploring Thematic Events
The ‘The Pull of the Force’ event will witness the arrival of legendary characters Luke, Leia, Han Solo, and Mace Windu on the island, introducing abilities such as Force Throw.
The ‘Mandalorian Rising’ event will introduce the Mandalorian Jetpack and an impressive lineup of weaponry, including the Ambasc sniper Rifle and the WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistol.
Lastly, the ‘Star Destroyer Bombardment’ event will provide players with the thrilling opportunity to commandeer a Star Destroyer’s turbolaser by seizing the control room before adversaries.
