Meet the New Vault Hunters
The dedicated presentation acquainted players with two novel story characters: Vex, the Siren, and Rafa, the Exo-Soldier.
While Vex is a winged mercenary with the ability to summon spectral sidekicks and enhance her own aptitudes, Rafa is a former Tediore soldier skilled in handling a diverse array of firearms. Rounding out the support team is Echo 4, a freshly introduced robotic sidekick. This AI companion directs players toward their objectives, hacks terminals and machinery, and scans the nearby area to unearth beneficial items.
Additional returning characters include the ever-popular Claptrap, Moxxi, and Lilith, alongside “Borderlands 3” Vault Hunters Zane and Amara.

The ruler, the Timekeeper, controls his subjects through cybernetic implants known as Bolts and maintains order with a synthetic army dubbed The Order, all while exhibiting a more understated, telegraphed, yet comical tone.
Creator Randy Pitchford revealed that “Borderlands 4” will adopt a steadier comedic style, reminiscent of its predecessors.
