In the past year, hundreds of photographs shared within the popular community of over 128,000 members—comprised of both amateur and professional photographers—were analyzed. Adobe evaluated user engagement, particularly the upvote, a decisive indicator of a post’s merit and popularity, before contacting Reddit contributors for permission to feature their images in the study.
Key UK Landscape Photography Insights
The analysis uncovered several interesting trends. Data revealed the following:
- Scottish Highlands: Emerged as the most favored landscape in the UK, with 38 images gathering a total of 15,184 upvotes.
- Devon, England: Claimed the top spot in England, with 34 photos receiving 1,850 upvotes.
- Gwynedd, Wales: Recognized as the most beloved locale in Wales, where 97% of posts spotlighted Mount Snowdon or Snowdonia National Park.
In addition, Adobe identified lesser-known but equally captivating locations using a metric they termed the “Hidden Gem score.” This score considered factors such as mention frequency, user engagement including upvotes, and community discussions.
