Ryan Reynolds Supports Blake Lively at “Another Simple Favor” Screening

Ryan Reynolds affirmed his role as Blake Lively’s biggest admirer by supporting her at a recent screening of her new movie, Another Simple Favor. The actor showcased his admiration and support for his wife at the cinematic event.

Reynolds’ Playful Paparazzi Moment

Following the Sunday, April 27 premiere event, Reynolds shared a charming clip initially posted on the A Simple Favor Instagram account. In the Instagram Story, the 48-year-old Reynolds was spotted behind the official photographers, phone in hand, capturing his own snapshots.

“Blake, Blake! Over here!” Reynolds exclaimed as the 37-year-old actress posed elegantly on the red carpet. “One more, just one more!”

The video’s caption playfully questioned, “Did you just take her picture @vancityreynolds?”

The Imperfect Photo and Red Carpet Glamour

Reynolds later revealed the outcome of his amateur photography on his Instagram Story. The image, however, was less than perfect, capturing Lively in motion with a man’s head partially obstructing the view. “Nailed it,” Reynolds joked.

Lively celebrated the New York City premiere of Another Simple Favor alongside director Paul Feig, costar Anna Kendrick, and others. Reynolds looked elegant in a grey pinstriped suit, accessorized with a blue pocket square and brown footwear. He shared smiles with Lively on the red carpet, where she dazzled in a mint green gown featuring bust cutouts. The couple’s appearance highlighted the film’s debut and their strong bond.

Time 100 Gala and Legal Battle Allusions

Prior to the premiere, the couple attended the Time 100 Gala in NYC, where Lively was celebrated as one of the magazine’s most influential figures. During her speech at the high-profile event on Thursday, April 24, she hinted at her continuing legal dispute with It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni. Lively used the gala as a platform to address broader issues affecting women while subtly referencing her personal challenges.

“I have so much to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum,” she stated, focusing on “the feeling of being a woman who has a voice today.”

Lively’s Tribute to Her Mother and Women’s Resilience

Lively paid tribute to her mother, Elaine, who had overcome “the worst crime someone can commit against a woman” years before Lively’s birth. Her words underscored the strength and resilience of women in the face of adversity.

“We don’t let our daughters know, but one day we break their hearts by letting them in on the secret that we kept from them as they pranced around in princess dresses, that they are not and will likely never be safe at work, at home, in a parking lot in a medical office, online — in any space they inhabit physically, emotionally, professionally,” she continued. “Never underestimate a woman’s ability to endure pain.”

Reynolds, present in the audience, appeared to offer his wife encouragement before she spoke.

Legal Disputes: Lively vs. Baldoni

The couple’s public appearances have been infrequent amid Lively’s legal complexities. In December 2024, she initiated a lawsuit against Baldoni, 41, alleging sexual harassment, “severe emotional distress,” and a “hostile work environment” during the production of It Ends With Us. Lively further accused Baldoni of attempting a smear campaign to undermine her career.

Baldoni refuted Lively’s accusations and subsequently filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times—which initially reported Lively’s claims—and a $400 million lawsuit targeting Lively, Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist, Leslie Sloane. Sloane requested the removal of her name from Baldoni’s suit in February.

Lively has consistently dismissed Baldoni’s allegations. In March, a judge approved a suspension of the lawsuit against The New York Times. A trial date for the case between Baldoni and Lively is scheduled for March 2026.
