Meghan Markle recently shared endearing, previously unseen photos of her children, Archie and Lilibet, picking flowers. The Duchess of Sussex, ever the doting mother, took to Instagram to post the charming snapshots.

Sweet Moments With Archie and Lilibet

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, delighted her followers by sharing moments of her two children helping her gather pink roses from a bush. The Instagram post was captioned: ‘Sunday kind of love….with my little loves.’

In the heartwarming images, Princess Lilibet is seen with her hair flowing freely, dressed in a lovely pink top. Prince Archie, equally adorable, sports a navy blue, long-sleeved shirt.

Lilibet’s American Accent Debuts

These affectionate photos come shortly after Princess Lilibet’s distinct American accent was heard publicly for the first time. The three-year-old offered a sweet, one-word review of her mother’s homemade jam this past weekend.

Meghan posted a video on Instagram where she asks Lilibet for her thoughts on the freshly prepared strawberry jam.

‘It’s beautiful,’ the toddler exclaimed, her Californian accent ringing clear.

Exploring Their Montecito Home

The Duchess also shared a glimpse of the fish pond located on her and Prince Harry’s expansive $14 million Montecito property. In the video, Archie excitedly calls out to his ‘mama’ to watch him feed the koi.

  • ‘Mama, watch it!’ he says eagerly. ‘I just fed it!’
  • Meghan responds with a cheerful ‘Good job, that’s enough.’

Meghan Markle’s Instagram and Family Life

Since reactivating her Instagram account earlier this year, Meghan has regularly provided peeks into her life in Montecito, California, often featuring her and Prince Harry’s children.

Previous Glimpses of the Royal Children

Royal fans first caught a hint of Lilibet’s voice in January 2025, when the Duchess posted an emotional tribute to the Sussexes’ late beagle, Guy.

The video included a touching scene of the royal children singing to the beloved dog, coupled with a clip of Prince Archie and Guy during a car ride.

American Accents on Display

Both Lilibet and Archie, now five, appear to have cultivated noticeable American accents since relocating stateside. In the video, Archie can be heard saying ‘he might fall’ with a distinct accent while referring to their family dog.

Meghan’s recent Instagram update follows her attendance at the Time100 Summit on Thursday.

Meghan’s ‘As Ever’ Lifestyle Brand

During a conversation with Time CEO Jessica Sibley, Meghan shared that she has ‘always’ enjoyed making things in my kitchen, creating small flower arrangements, and producing a lot of jam’.

She also mentioned that Bela Bajaria, chief content officer of Netflix, suggested ‘there’s a show here’ after Meghan started gifting these homemade items.

Regarding her lifestyle series, As Ever, Meghan revealed, ‘I hadn’t at the onset thought that was something I wanted to share in that way.’

She added, ‘Creatively we worked as partners to really find a way for it to land and for me to be able to share it and just have fun, which I think is really the goal in this chapter.’

The Duchess’ revelation that she was initially hesitant about the project contrasts with the fact that the show had been in development for months and is closely linked to the launch of her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and related merchandise.

‘With Love, Meghan’ premiered on Netflix in March, following an initial postponement due to wildfires in Los Angeles.

Critical Reception of “With Love, Meghan”

Despite the anticipation leading up to the show’s release, critics described it as ‘gormless lifestyle filler’ and noted a ‘tangible desperation’.

  • Some critics suggested the Duchess was ‘attempting to cling to fame by any means possible.’
  • Others described her ‘joylessly filling kids’ party bags with seeds.’

Marina Hyde of The Guardian labeled the show as ‘sensationally absurd and trite,’ adding, ‘The mildest way to describe this show is as a ghastly artefact of a particular cultural era that recently met its apocalypse.’

The Telegraph gave the show a rating of just two stars, calling it an ‘exercise in narcissism, filled with extravagant brunches, celebrity pals, and business plugs’.

Criticism also arose because the show, despite being billed as an ‘intimate glimpse’ into Meghan’s home life, was not filmed at her Montecito residence.

Recent Social Media Activity

In contrast, the Duchess’ Instagram account now regularly showcases Archie and Lilibet. In February, Meghan shared a Valentine’s Day post featuring a video of her making themed bagels with her children, to the delight of her followers.

Fan reactions included:

  • ‘Harry and Meghan are blessed with a beautiful family. Archie is so tall now and Lili seems so comfortable in the kitchen. She is wielding that butter knife like a pro.’
  • ‘OMG a little Glimpse of Prince Archie & Princess Lilibet. What a beautiful day.’

Leading up to the premiere of her Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” last month, Meghan posted a photo of herself and Lilibet being joined by ‘Auntie’ Serena Williams for a game of Candy Land.

Another video featured Archie’s voice as he helped her water plants.

Differing Views on Sharing Images of the Children

Royal commentators have noted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear to have contrasting perspectives regarding sharing images of their children publicly.

During an appearance on Hello!’s Right Royal podcast, Emily Nash, the magazine’s royal editor, and Matt Wilkinson, the royal editor for The Sun, discussed the topic.

‘My understanding of this is that, up to a certain stage, Harry would much rather his children were not seen,’ Matt explained.

He further added, ‘Whereas Meghan grew up in California, she once said she would like to have a more California style lifestyle, take them down the beach, go out, do stuff. She doesn’t want to hide them away.’

He noted that while the Duchess doesn’t display her children’s faces directly in images and videos she posts, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie follow similar practices regarding images of their children.

While the panel explored the possibility of Archie and Lilibet potentially being photographed as they grow older, Matt observed, ‘I think Harry’s living in [like things are] the way they were when he was a child […] the media landscape has shifted.’

Children Used in Show Promotion?

Many of Meghan’s Instagram posts featuring glimpses of her children appeared in the period leading up to the release of “With Love, Meghan.” A video showcasing Lilibet (alongside Serena Williams) was captioned: ‘3 days until the party begins. All are invited @Netflix.’

Archie and Lilibet also made brief appearances in a short clip shown during Meghan’s appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show in early March.

During the episode, the Duchess disclosed that she enlisted her children to assist in the kitchen while baking hundreds of cookies for guests attending the Drew Barrymore Show. A clip of her working on the desserts then flashed across the screen, showing her and Prince Harry’s children lending a hand.
