Jillian Shriner, Wife of Weezer Bassist Scott Shriner, Spotted After Attempted Murder Arrest
Jillian Shriner, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, emerged into public view, appearing alongside her husband after her recent arrest for attempted murder. This marked her first public appearance since the incident where she was shot by law enforcement officers and subsequently taken into custody. The incident has garnered significant attention in Los Angeles and among fans of the band.
Jillian, 51, held onto Scott Shriner as they exited their residence in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon.
While the photographs did not reveal any visible signs of Jillian’s shoulder injury, she was observed holding her husband’s wrist, possibly for support.
Couple’s Outing Following the Incident
The couple, who have been married since 2005, appeared to be embarking on a trip. Jillian was dressed in a loose-fitting gray sweatshirt and baggy black pants as they loaded luggage into their vehicle.
She carried a red leather bag over her left shoulder, while Scott, wearing cargo pants and a navy t-shirt, handled the baggage.
Details of the Arrest
The arrest of the Weezer musician’s wife occurred on April 8. Jillian allegedly interfered with the Los Angeles Police Department’s investigation into a misdemeanor hit-and-run incident involving three suspects who fled the scene of a freeway accident and entered a nearby residential area, according to official statements.
As officers searched for the hit-and-run suspects, they noticed a woman — later identified as Jillian — armed with a handgun outside her home.
Authorities claim she disregarded repeated commands to drop the weapon. According to the press release, officers fired after Jillian allegedly aimed the gun at them.
Reports indicate that Scott Shriner’s wife sustained a shoulder wound, although police have only confirmed that she was struck by gunfire before retreating into her house.
Jillian later reappeared with another woman, identified as the babysitter. She was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot injury.
Law enforcement officials also reported finding a 9mm handgun inside the residence.
She was formally charged with attempted murder and subsequently released after posting a $1 million bail.
Neighbor’s Account of the Incident
Following the incident, a neighbor spoke in Jillian’s defense, asserting that she may not have been able to see the police officers when they fired at her.
According to this neighbor, who requested anonymity, an unfamiliar individual wearing a “wife beater” shirt was seen jumping a fence into the musician’s property.
“It’s not like she didn’t have any reason to have a gun. The guy was there,” the neighbor told The Post, adding that Jillian is a mother of two. “None of us knew anything. She’s home with her two kids.”
The neighbor claimed Jillian “basically admonished him and said, ‘They’re gonna catch you,'” before police arrived. Shortly after, “several cops were approaching the yard, and bullets were flying.”
“I hear about six gunshots in quick succession,” the neighbor recalled. “It went ba-da-da-da-da… There was just them firing upon her.”
Scott Shriner’s Reaction
In a statement to The Post one day after his wife’s arrest, Scott Shriner promoted Weezer’s Coachella performance providing an update on his wife’s status: “She’s alright, thank you for asking. See you at Coachella!”
He performed with his bandmates in the Mojave Tent on April 12, during the first weekend of the music festival.
