Depraved Son Imprisoned for Horrific Abuse and Rape of Elderly Mother
A reprehensible individual in Spain will serve 19 years in confinement for transforming his elderly mother into a “prisoner in her own home,” subjecting her to near-daily sexual assault. The Cadiz court delivered the sentence for this appalling case of elder abuse.
Identified by the Spanish press only as Rafael CDVM, the 47-year-old was convicted in Cadiz for the repeated sexual violations inflicted upon his 83-year-old mother, who has since passed away.
Authorities initiated an investigation into this gruesome case—which took place in the coastal town of Chiclana de la Frontera—in the spring of 2023 after two caregivers discovered bloodstains on the elderly woman’s undergarments.
Court records obtained by the Spanish newspaper El Pais reveal that the caregivers had previously witnessed the perverted son threatening to “kick” and “rip” off the woman’s head.
The victim had also disclosed to her caregivers, “My little boy slept here today, and I don’t want him to. I don’t want him in my bed.”
Additionally, the caregivers—who were “constantly under surveillance” by Rafael—detected bruises on the elderly woman’s body on multiple instances, prompting them to file several complaints via email and text message to their employer about the ongoing maltreatment.
Upon receiving reports of the vile abuse endured by the elderly woman, social services intervened with a visit.

Details of the Abuse
She admitted that her son had joined her in bed, forcibly violating her, asserting that he “does it almost every day.”
Tragically, seven months after the inquiry into this disturbing case began, the elderly woman passed away, rendering her direct testimony inadmissible as evidence in her son’s trial.
However, the victim’s caregivers, a social worker, and a forensic medical examiner provided testimony during the proceedings.
Rafael’s legal defense team contended that he had an intellectual disability; however, forensic physicians attested that his “intellectual capacity was sufficient to discern what was right and wrong.”
Court’s Verdict on the Heinous Crime
In a statement, the Provincial Court of Cadiz stated, “This court understands that the defendant generated a hellish and terrifying environment for his mother.”
Judges also condemned Rafael’s actions as “reprehensible” for subjecting his mother’s existence “to a veritable hell,” pronouncing that he held her captive in her own dwelling, submitting her to his “whims and caprices of an aggressive nature.”
Similar Cases of Abuse
This horrifying incident surfaces after another depraved father received a 17-year prison term for sexually assaulting and “prostituting” his seven-month-old daughter within his Spanish apartment.
The 27-year-old waiter, known only as Santiago, came under investigation in 2022 for disseminating over 100 child pornography videos and 270 images online.
During their probe, Spanish law enforcement discovered that the man, of Venezuelan descent, had recorded himself on two occasions raping his daughter in his apartment situated in the Aluche neighborhood of southwest Madrid.
It also emerged that he circulated footage of the appalling deed on the dark web.
The shocking revelation culminated in his apprehension in 2023.
Santiago reportedly confessed to the police upon his arrest, “I was sick and couldn’t stop what I was doing,” according to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
During the trial held earlier this month, Santiago acknowledged the charges leveled against him, comprising one count of sexual assault of a minor and one count of production of child pornography.
Additionally, Santiago was found to have utilized various social media platforms and instant messaging applications to both procure and disseminate “extremely harsh” child pornography content.
Sentence and Restrictions
He secured a 17-year prison sentence, faces a prohibition from approaching his daughter within 500 meters, and has been divested of parental rights for a decade.
