The annual Norfolk NATO Festival Parade of Nations is set to proceed in downtown Norfolk this Saturday, prompting several road closures and parking restrictions. Parking Restrictions

To facilitate the parade, on-street parking will be prohibited from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, along the parade route. Affected areas include:

  • Both sides of Granby Street between Plume Street and Charlotte Street.
  • Plume Street between Boush Street and Granby Street.
  • Eastbound and Westbound Waterside Drive between St. Paul’s Boulevard and Main Street.
  • Freemason Street between Boush Street and Monticello Avenue.
  • Bank Street between Main Street and Plume Street.
  • Northbound and southbound Boush Street between Main Street and Brambleton Avenue.

Street Closures

Be aware of the following street closures in connection with the parade:

  • 7:30 a.m.: Water Street between Park Avenue and just east of Dominion Tower Parking Garage. Also, East Main Street between Union Street and Park Avenue.
  • 8:00-8:30 a.m.: Securing the remainder of the parade route to prepare for the parade start-time and pre-parade entertainment on Waterside Drive.
  • 8:30 a.m.: Parade participants assemble on Park Avenue between Holt Street and Water Street, and on Water Street between Park Avenue and St. Paul’s Boulevard.
  • 9:40 a.m.: Pre-parade performances commence on eastbound Waterside Drive.
  • 10:00 a.m.: The Parade of Nations officially steps off onto Waterside Drive, marking the beginning of the Norfolk NATO Festival Parade.

Post-Parade Reopening

Following the parade, streets will reopen under the direction of law enforcement officials. It is anticipated that all streets will be fully accessible by approximately noon.
