Xfinity Mobile Unveils Premium Unlimited Plan with Enhanced Features

In a competitive market where carriers all provide unlimited talk, text and data with their wireless plans, Xfinity Mobile is upping the ante with its new Premium Unlimited plan. This offering includes high-definition streaming, a generous 30GB of high-speed hotspot data per month, and the unique advantage of upgrading your devices twice annually. The Premium Unlimited plan is available now, presenting significant benefits for users seeking enhanced mobile capabilities.

Premium Perks Explained

The Premium Unlimited plan costs $30 per line on top of a required Xfinity Internet subscription, providing unlimited high-speed data. This is a key enhancement over the standard Unlimited plan, which reduces data speeds after 30GB.

  • For mobile hotspot use, the Premium Unlimited plan offers an allocation of 30GB of data before speeds are throttled. By contrast, the standard Unlimited plan provides slower speeds, though both retain unlimited hotspot data access.
  • The Premium Unlimited plan also stands out with its 4K resolution video streaming, a notable upgrade from the basic Unlimited plan’s 480p standard resolution.
  • It also includes the Xfinity Call Guard service, designed to block unwanted spam calls.

Leveraging Network Technology

Xfinity Mobile relies on Verizon’s network for 5G and 4G LTE cellular connectivity. It also makes substantial use of its established base of home and business internet services, with modems that function as public Wi-Fi hotspots. Both the Premium Unlimited and standard Unlimited plans are equipped with WiFi PowerBoost, designed to automatically connect to Wi-Fi networks for enhanced speeds, up to 1GB, according to Xfinity.

  • According to the company, over 90% of mobile data usage occurs over Wi-Fi.
  • If users are connected to their home network (and their Xfinity service utilizes an XB7 or XB8 Gateway for data routing), their devices can experience faster speeds, even if their subscription doesn’t include that level of bandwidth.

Twice-Yearly Upgrades

The Elite Upgrade Option

Customers wanting the newest smartphones can upgrade twice a year with the Premium Unlimited plan. The Elite Upgrade option offers bi-annual device upgrades with a “guaranteed new-device discount of up to $830 with an eligible trade-in,” according to Xfinity.

Switching Incentives

For subscribers moving from other carriers, Xfinity Mobile offers to cover up to $500 per line for as many as five lines, which helps offset existing contract termination fees.
