Hilary Swank Showcases Stunning Physique at 50 in Women’s Health UK

Two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank is featured in the latest edition of Women’s Health UK, displaying a remarkable physique at 50 years old. The actress, known for her roles in acclaimed films and series such as Yellowjackets, is photographed in a series of striking swimwear ensembles and a sophisticated aquamarine maxi dress. The Hollywood star appears in excellent health just two years after giving birth to twins, Aya and Ohm, with her husband Philip Schneider, 51, in 2023. Swank conceived following a decision to freeze her eggs at age 37.

Embracing Motherhood and Career Success

Swank openly discussed her journey to motherhood, acknowledging a desire to have children earlier in life. “I’m not saying I actively waited until 47. But… it was the right time for a multitude of reasons,” she stated. This timing, she revealed, has been advantageous, as she feels she possesses greater patience as a parent now compared to what she anticipates she would have had in her early forties.

“I am much more… engaged in a different way than I would’ve been previously. I am genuinely interested in understanding their minds. I am fascinated by their motivations. And having an established career, I feel less divided. I am fully able to immerse myself and be present with them, embracing hands-on parenting.”

Thriving Career in Hollywood

The celebrated actress has recently garnered critical acclaim for her performance in the third season of Yellowjackets. Contrary to the experiences of many actresses who report diminished work opportunities with age, Swank asserts she is busier than ever.

The Million Dollar Baby star, who will mark her 51st birthday in July, shared with Women’s Health UK magazine, “Many might assume, ‘Aren’t you concerned about turning 50 and facing a scarcity of roles?'”

“To which I respond, ‘No, I am receiving more offers now than ever before.’ It is an exciting chapter.”

Industry Evolution and Inclusivity

Reflecting on the changes within the entertainment industry since her career began in the early 1990s, Swank noted a positive shift towards greater inclusivity and a move away from patriarchal norms.

“Thankfully, it is becoming increasingly inclusive,” she observed, recounting that early in her career, she often portrayed female characters conceived through a male perspective.

She elaborated on the challenges of this, suggesting that male-authored portrayals of womanhood “were not always authentic.”

“It’s not that I dislike femininity, rather I resist being dictated how to embody it,” Swank concluded.
